QuarterLife Girl Gets Fit!

About

It was just about 5 years ago that I completed my first year of college. Like many who gain the “Freshman 15”, I too gained weight, except it was closer to 20 for me!! Fast forward 5 years, many rounds of the South Beach Diet later, after periods of big weight fluctuations…I’m back at the most I’ve ever weighed!! 164. (Actually, I’ve weighed more than that, but its close enough)

Unlike some very entertaining and/or informative fitness blogs out there, I only intend to chronicle my struggle with my weight and to become (most importantly) more fit!! If along the way, some of you continue to read and learn a thing or two…great! Just keep in mind that my primary purpose is to keep myself accountable.

Unlike finances, fitness (for me) is HARD! I’d appreciate any encouraging words you may have, but please, be nice! (Unless I’ve been skipping out on workouts or eating like a beast! Then I deserve some tough love.)

THANKS!

“Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.”

I recently ran across two graduation photos of mine: high school and college. The, um, er … “change” was astounding. Amazing what forty eight metric tons of peanut butter and a few hundred gallons of beer will do in four short years.

@ Charlie, I know what you mean! I think if weight gain was more immediate there wouldn’t be so many of us that are overweight. Instead its so sneaky!
